You’re right there.
When the playmat is no longer the edge of their world, it helps to give floor time a place of its own. Keep a few favourite toys inside and settle down nearby while they play.
There’s room to sit in together for a book or a game. The open wooden rails let you see each other, so their play space still feels part of the room.
Working with wood since 2020
It starts with the wood.
Wood has been part of Riababy from day one. Since 2020, we’ve spent years selecting timbers, visiting factories and going back over the details with the people who make our products. They bring decades of experience working with wood, and care just as much as we do about getting those details right.
For these playpens, we chose FSC-certified A-grade New Zealand pine, carefully rounded and sanded, with a non-toxic water-based paint finish. We keep coming back to how it feels in a small hand, as well as how it looks in your home.
That’s how we work: choose carefully, revisit the details, then revisit them again.
Both playpens have been independently tested to AS/NZS ISO 8124 Parts 1, 2, 3 and 6. They’re designed for babies aged 6 months and up, for awake play with an adult nearby and supervising.

The eight-panel set fits a 200 × 140 cm playmat, with an outer footprint of 204 × 144 cm. Add the toys they’re reaching for this week and you’re ready to sit down together.
Have a little more floor space to work with? Both designs are modular. Extra panels will be available individually, so you can add the number you need rather than buy another complete playpen.

Something to come back to
That little gear again.
Some toys get a quick look. Others get turned over and tried again. The built-in activity panel has beads to slide, connected gears to turn and a koala and kangaroo to guide along their tracks.
It’s there whenever they feel like another go. Both playpens include the same panel, in the same soft colours.
After playtime
Your living room, with room again.
A play space doesn’t have to stay out all the time. The specially designed connectors hold the panels securely in place and allow the playpen to fold without tools. You can put it away without turning the end of playtime into another assembly job.
Each playpen comes with a storage bag to keep it together between uses.

The eight-panel set in either style fits a 200 × 140 cm playmat. Its assembled outer footprint is 204 × 144 cm, so allow for this space in your room.

How much does it weigh?
The complete playpen weighs 15 kg.

Is a playmat included?

Can I add more panels?
Yes. Both Straight and Wave are modular. Individual panels will be sold separately, so you can extend your play space to suit your room.
The listed 204 × 144 cm footprint is for the eight-panel set. Adding panels changes the overall dimensions and the size of mat you may need.
Which style should I choose?
Choose Straight for a clean, level outline or Wave for a gently curved upper rail. The play space and activity panel are the same, so you can choose the look you prefer.

What should I know before using it?
